Childhood vaccinations

We follow the South African childhood vaccination schedule from six weeks old, keep your child's record card up to date, and make the visit as calm as we can for both of you.

Vaccination visits are booked with a bit of extra time, because a rushed injection helps nobody. We weigh and measure your child at each visit and plot their growth, so you can see how they're doing over time — it's a check-up and a vaccination in one.

Missed a few? It happens, especially in busy years. Bring the Road to Health book you have and we'll work out a catch-up plan — there's no lecture waiting for you here.

We also give flu vaccines for the whole family from autumn each year, and tetanus boosters when that rusty-nail moment happens.

Good to know

  • Bring your child's Road to Health book to every visit
  • Vaccines on the state schedule are usually covered by medical aids — we can check yours
  • A little paracetamol and a planned quiet afternoon help after baby vaccinations
